Make the most of Sidmouth with a stay at Chandler’s holiday cottage

The perfect base for exploring the Jurassic Coast, East Devon and West Dorset

Leave your car in the private parking space and slow down to a more relaxed pace of life. Start by taking a leisurely 10 to 15 minute stroll along the tree-lined riverside byes into Sidmouth town centre. Here you’ll find a mix of independant local shops, cafés and restaurants. Then wander on to the Esplanade for a breath of fresh sea air and sweeping views along the distinctive red cliffs of the Jurassic Coast.

Sample the catch of the day in one of our local restaurants and then walk back to put your feet up in comfort. If it’s cold out you can light the log burner or on warm evenings relax in the garden. We think Chandler’s Cottage is the perfect place to completely unwind and re-charge your batteries.

We welcome bookings for short breaks or longer holidays for up to four people – there are two bedrooms, one with a king size double bed and the other with two singles.

{Lovely Place This is a superb house, which has been lovingly decorated and equipped to a high standard. Welcome pack and supplies were exceptional. It's in a good location, just 2 mins to a walk down to the sea. Sidmouth is a nice seaside town, with good facilities.
Mark J from London, September 2023
{Very comfortable cottage Perfectly situated adjacent to The Byes, Chandlers Cottage is in the ideal location for visiting Sidmouth and East Devon. Pleasant walks from the cottage, good bus services and easy access to shops etc. The cottage itself is fully equipped, cosy and comfortable. We have no doubts that we will return in future.
Ken & Gail H from Chorley, September 2023
{An excellent cottage. We love Sidmouth - location of cottage is great. Owners are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. Lovely welcome hamper. Lots of thought goes into this property. Highly recommend.

{Cosy, well equipped cottage to rest in, walking to beach via the Byes, proximity to beach is excellent. Made us relaxed & happy. Obviously Jo & Peter really care about customer experience! It shines through in all of the thought put into detail. I would recommend to anyone. It really is everything we needed. Will be booking again.

Rachel G from London, 3rd stay, August 2022
{A cosy little cottage in a beautiful area, what's not to like?
Ali B from Stroud, 10th stay, July 2022
{We had a lovely time. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and fitted out to a high standard. There was a Spar at the end of the road, a supermarket, bakers amd petrol station within 15 mins walk. A great walk into town along the riverside. Very comfortable and quiet. Cool inside during the very hot weather. Nice garden. Overall exceeded expectations.
Graham W from St Albans, July 2022
{We've stayed at Chandlers several times, and have more booked! It's a perfect little cottagey-style house, very comfortable and attractively decorated throughout. You're very near "The Byes", which means there's a lovely 1 mile walk down to the sea - and nearby walks in other directions too.
Dickie & Annie T from London, 3rd stay, May 2021
{It was fantastic – within easy reach of superb cliff walks and small seaside towns and beaches. Charmouth, Beer, Branscombe and Lyme Regis all a short drive away. The towns have many unique little shops and the beaches are beautiful, clean and impressive with tall cliffs either side. We were very impressed with the wildflower meadow in the Byes and community Orchard. Such a lovely space and it will always be our favourite route into town. Sidmouth itself is charming and the walk along the front a must.
Ali B from Stroud, 8th stay, July 2020
{Absolutely beautiful cottage. So much care, attention and thought has gone into every aspect of it – giving your guests the “ultimate stay”. It is a pleasure to stay here. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated… our stay was over far too quickly leaving me with one regret – that we couldn’t stay longer!
Elaine B from Woking, May 2019
{We really enjoyed our time in a Sidmouth. Having visited on day trips know it to be laid back and uncommercialised. The town is clean and well kept. We like it that there are so many other places to visit within a short distance: cream tea in Budleigh, coffee on the beach in Beer, fish and chips in Seaton. All this deserved after losing ourselves on a longer than planned walk on Peaks Hill and Mutters Moor. A great walk if you don’t take the wrong track! We spent an interesting hour in Sidmouth Museum on a wet afternoon the day we arrived. The location of the cottage is good meaning there is no need to use a car to get down into the town but a pleasant walk through the Byes. We joined in some local things. Nigel went on a bat count one evening taking place in the Byes and we both went to talk given as part of Sidmouth Science Festival. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. One of the best self catering properties we have rented.
Carolyn & Nigel M from Bath, October 2018
{We had a lovely time enjoying Sidmouth and the surrounding area… watching the fireworks, eating hot donuts during the regatta, sitting outside Dukes pub wrapped in blankets eating a lovely meal
Emma S from Ipswich, August 2018
{The cottage was beautifully appointed and it was a real home from home. We could tell that a lot of thought had gone into every room and aspect of the house. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it. 5 stars!
